Bakemonogatari is the first installment of the anime adaptation of Nisioisin’s Monogatari light novel series, illustrated by Vofan. The season was directed by Akiyuki Shinbo and Tatsuya Oishi. Shinbo also did the series composition with To Fuyashi. Akio Watanabe did the character designs. The season had 12 episodes and was followed by Nisemonogatari and Nisemonogatari (Black) in 2012. Monogatari Series: Second Season aired in 2013 and covered 6 arcs of the light novel. The adaptation of Final Season, which includes Tsukimonogatari, Owarimonogatari, Koyomimonogatari, Owarimonogatari II, Zoku Owarimonogatari, aired from 2014 to 2019 as a combination of specials, TV anime, and movies. The Kizumonogatari prequel novel was also adapted in the form of three movies: Tekketsu, Nekketsu, and Reiketsu; which were later combined into a new cut under the Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp title.
