My Hero Academia and Marvel have exchanged illustrations as the Japanese manga released its final volume in Japan. The creator Kohei Horikoshi drew an illustration of Spider-Man, with Deku and All Might behind him.
Speaking about being a Marvel fan and his admiration for heroes, Horikoshi-sensei shared: “It was Spider-Man who I first met as a child, and it’s still is Spider-Man for me today. I’ve always wondered what it means to be a hero, especially when I was writing My Hero Academia. At some point, I came to the conclusion that it’s about being a strong part of a community, helping a friendly neighborhood. That is why I respect Spider-Man so much.”

In return, Marvel artists Humberto Ramos and Edgar Delgado drew an illustration of the ladies of My Hero Academia together with Marvel’s Black Cat. The Japanese heroines include Mt.Lady, Star and Stripe, Ochaco Uraraka, Tsuyu Asui, Momo Yaoyorozu, Setsuna Tokage, and Mirko.
Kohei Horikoshi drew the My Hero Academia manga for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 until August of this year. The series ended after a 10-year run, getting numerous illustrations and messages for the conclusion.
The manga received its first anime adaptation by studio BONES in 2016. It received 6 more seasons in the following years, with Season 7 concluding on October 12, 2024. You can read our review of the finale, as well as one of the entire season.
My Hero Academia Season 8 was officially announced immediately after the last episode, and it was confirmed to be the final one. The story left off right as the fights between All For One/One For All and Deku/Shigaraki got to their climaxes, and fans are looking forward to the continuation coming in 2025.
The franchise also got four movies, with the latest one being My Hero Academia: You’re Next. The movie will release on Blu-ray & DVD in Japan on February 19, 2025 and include a new anime with an original story by Kohei Horikoshi.
