Kodansha announced that they will release a super-sized version of the “Attack on Titan” aiming for world’s largest. It will be for sale to the first 100 people starting at noon on April 6. Currently, a comic book (6,976.02cm) released in Sao Paulo, Brazil was certified as the “Largest comic book published” by Guinness World Records on August 5, 2018. This book aims to surpass that record. Meanwhile, the manga is currently serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine and will reach its final chapter on April 9.
The size of the world’s largest “Attack on Titan” is six to seven times larger than normal. In addition, it seems to have been created with Eren’s Titan in mind. The size of the book is 1000mm (length) x 704mm (width), 1010mm (length) x 715mm (width), 13.7kg (approximate weight), and 25mm (bundle width), and if 100 books are sold, it will be recognized as a new Guinness World Record.
The content of the book is a reproduction of the first volume of the manga. It includes the first and second chapters (96 pages in total). The sales period starts at noon on March 6 at Kodansha’s online store, and the price will be 150,000 yen ($1400USD). Shipping will begin on May 2021.
With the manga just about to end in a little over a month, we’ll probably also start seeing even more of it. I feel like it will get those 100 sales pretty easily, though guess we’ll see.
