Kodansha Shares New Video and Photos for BLUE LOCK x Liverpool FC Collaboration

Kodansha released a new video to commemorate the collaboration between BLUE LOCK and Liverpool FC, along with images of its first floor entrance display. The series has been the official global partner of the soccer club since 2021. The manga was the best-selling series of 2023, while Liverpool is currently at the top of the English Premier League with 6 points and a game in hand over its first follower Arsenal.

Kodansha’s display features both the soccer team and the manga’s characters. Their caption mentions “the energy boosts our mood every time we walk past it.”

Back before Season 2 of the anime started, volumes 1 through 5 of the BLUE LOCK manga were released with limited-edition covers featuring Yoichi Isagi, Meguru Bachira, Rensuke Kunigami, Hyoma Chigiri, and Seishiro Nagi wearing Liverpool FC jourseys.

In November 2024, Liverpool FC and Kodansha showcased an interactive manga design exhibition at Liverpool Comic Con. The display featured artistic representations of Liverpool FC players, including captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, along with their Japanese player Wataru Endo and Liverpool FC Women’s Fuka Nagano.

BLUE LOCK x Liverpool FC – New Collaboration Video

BLUE LOCK is a Japanese manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. Studio 8bit animated the first TV anime season that premiered in October 2022 and ran for 24 episodes. In addition to the Nagi movie which premiered in April, the 2nd TV anime season premiered on October 5 and ran until December 28.
