Background on The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You

The original manga, written by Rikito Nakamura and illustrated by Yukiko Nozawa, began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2019. The series follows Rentaro Aijo, a boy who, due to a mistake by God, ends up with 100 soulmates. If he rejects any of them, they will die, leading to a unique romantic comedy where he must balance his relationships with a growing number of girlfriends (aiming for a 100!).

The anime adaptation is produced by Bibury Animation Studios, with Season 1 airing in 2023 and Season 2 currently ongoing. Crunchyroll is streaming the series worldwide.

Recently, Season 2 introduced new heroines, with Mimimi Utsukushisugi, Rentaro’s 10th girlfriend, being the latest to join. The Rentaro Family has already grown a lot, with other additions this season including Haraga Kurumi, Mei Meido and Iku Suto. Meme Kakure is set to debut before the show ends as well.
