“Global popularity: Both Season 1 and Season 2 of ‘Solo Leveling’ gained global success across major countries and OTT platforms, proving its widespread popularity and buzzworthiness. Upon its release in January 2024, Season 1 became Crunchyroll’s most popular title of the year. Season 2, premiered in January this year, also reigned atop the charts across all Crunchyroll regions – including the English-speaking countries, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa – emerging as the most popular series of the first quarter. It also ranked first on the daily charts of Japan’s Amazon and ABEMA while becoming the top January release in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia through broadcasts via Medialink.“
Solo Leveling picked up several awards at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including Anime of the Year. The series also overtook One Piece and Demon Slayer as the most-rated title on the platform. Solo Leveling‘s sequel series, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, also celebrated the recent milestone of passing 100 million views on Kakao Entertainment’s KakaoPage reading platform.
Solo Leveling Season 3 is yet to be announced. However, several staff members affiliated with the series are optimistic that it will happen. Crunchyroll Senior Vice President Mitchel Berger said this month, “We just concluded Season 2, which did really well for us, so I’m sure there will be more content in future. We’re not sure exactly when, but it will be here and fans will continue to see the story.“ You can check out further comments from fellow staff members at the same link.
Crunchyroll streams Solo Leveling in English subbed and dubbed, describing the series:
They say whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but that’s not the case for the world’s weakest hunter Sung Jinwoo. After being brutally slaughtered by monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, Jinwoo came back with the System, a program only he could see, that’s leveling him up in every way. Now, he’s inspired to discover the secrets behind his powers and the dungeon that spawned them.
