The previously announced Shiboyugi: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: Cloudy Beach anime movie revealed a new visual and trailer. The new voice cast members for the series were also announced and consist of:
- Yume Miyamoto as Airi
- Anna Nagase as Essei
- Yukari Tamura as Koyomi
- Konomi Inagaki as Hizumi
- Aino Shimada as Maguma
- Riko Akechi as Mitsuba
- Hikaru Tono as Mozuku
Chiyuki Miura will reprise her role as the main character Yuki. The movie is set to release in Japanese theaters for two weeks starting on July 10, 2026.
The staff from the first season will return to work on the movie. Studio DEEN is animating with Sota Ueno as director. Rintarou Ikeda is in charge of series composition, while Eri Osada is the character designer, and Noriyoshi Konuma is the sound director.
The anime is based on the light novel series of the same title, written by Yushi Ukai with illustrations by Nekometaru. It has been serialized in Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint since November 2022. There is also a manga adaptation by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai. Yen Press licensed the novel in English and they describe the story as follows:
Yuki wakes up to find herself in an unfamiliar manor, wearing a maid uniform and lying on a luxurious bed. Soon, she discovers five more girls, all dressed the same as her. This is the Ghost House, and the only way they can survive is to make it through the traps that lie in wait-deadly games full of blowguns, buzz saws, locked rooms, and weapons. It’s a hopeless, terrifying situation for everyone there…well, everyone except Yuki. After all, this is her career at seventeen. Do you think that’s odd? She would agree. But that’s how some people are-they earn their living playing death games.
