According to the official Twitter account for the One Piece portal, episode 996 will also come after a break, which means its release date is set for next Sunday on October 24. The One Piece manga will take a break this week as well, which means chapter 1029 will not release on October 17. Instead, it will come out a week later on October 24, just like the anime. We saw the Akazaya samurai finally face Kaido, and they used the same panel for the announcement of the episode release date. Check out the tweet:
This comes after the confirmation that One Piece episode 1000 will release on November 21. That was the original plan, but it wasn’t clear after the Tokyo Marathon, which would have delayed One Piece, was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. However, the release date of episode 1000 remained, and the delay of 996 is still happening anyway, so it’s a single week break before we get onto the final steps towards the huge milestone for One Piece! The manga is also reaching the climax of Wano, so we can take a moment to anticipate it more before Oda returns with more great chapters.
Where is the One Piece anime right now
The raid on Onigashima has escalated, with the Akazaya samurai finally confronting Kaido. After killing Orochi, Kaido announced his alliance with Big Mom, which shocked most of the people present. Momo had a big moment, and Luffy and Yamato had some nice interactions of their own. The last week’s episode also featured impressive animation sequences for the samurai, and it might be a good time to catch up now in case you haven’t already seen it.
Celebration of One Piece
One Piece is commemorating the 100th volume which released on September 3rd and the upcoming anime episode 1000 with several projects. The recent “WE ARE ONE” video collection was one.
