Classroom of the Elite Light Novel Series Exceeds 6 Million Copies in Circulation

Classroom of the Elite light novel series has surpassed 6 million copies in circulation. The count includes both digital and printed copies, the official website for the series revealed. The TV anime adaptation is also getting a sequel, as announced on February 21, 2022.

The popular Classroom of the Elite light novel series, which was published by MF Bunko (KADOKAWA) has surpassed 6 million copies in circulation. An anime adaptation aired from July to September 2017, and a sequel is now officially in the works. Shunsaku Tomose, the character designer of the anime also made a visual for the announcement. More information regarding the sequel will also be revealed in a livestream on March 6, 2022.

Media Factory published Shogo Kinugasa’s Classroom of the Elite light novel series from May 2015 to September 2019, and it had a total of 14 volumes. The same publisher is also serializing a sequel titled Classroom of the Elite: Year 2, which as of now has 6 volumes available. Both of the light novel series have manga adaptations. The first one was illustrated by Yuyu Ichino, and Shunsaku Tomose is the one working on the second. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the Classroom of the Elite light novel series in English.

An anime adaptation aired from July to September 2017, and it had a total of 12 episodes. Seiji Kishi (Assassination Classroom) and Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Is the Order a Rabbit?) directed the series while studio Lerche (Scum’s Wish) animated it. A sequel to the series has been announced after more than 4 years since the anime aired.
