Japanese publisher Shueisha has announced the establishment of Shueisha Games, the publisher’s new gaming subsidiary. Said company will focus on the creation of digital games based on titles licensed to their various manga magazines, including those from Weekly Shonen Jump, Weekly Young Jump, and Jump SQ.
According to the company, the company was established on February 16, 2022, in a bid to raise the number of employees affiliated with their company. Some of the game titles that are now registered on the site include ONI, Ukiyo, The Tower of Children, and BLEACH. In addition, Shueisha Games is also launching a creators camp where game creators can gather, interact, and create new works.
In addition, Shueisha said that the project started with the idea of supporting a small number of talented game creators, but also manga artists, novelists, visual artists, illustrators, sound creators, and others.
“ We are a company that has been working together to create and deliver new works of art. We have done so repeatedly and with dedication. Now we are going to try our hand at making games, games that will be unforgettable for the rest of your life, games that will light a fire in your heart, and creative games that no one has ever seen before.”

Shueisha Games also hinted at the release of a game title for smartphones, as well as a multiplayer speed trick action game.
This was not the first time a major publishing house had ventured into the gaming industry. In November 2021, Japanese publishing company Kodansha announced a public contest where they outsourced the public for game ideas that would fit the Fairy Tail franchise.
