Chainsaw Man Anime Gets a New Visual, New Trailer Coming on August 5

The upcoming Chainsaw Man anime revealed a key visual. In addition to the visual, the anime revealed that a new a PV and new information will be released during a special program on August 5. The series will have a panel on Crunchyroll Expo on the same date.

Studio MAPPA is animating the Chainsaw Man anime, with Ryu Nakayama as the director. Kazutaka Sugiyama is doing character designs, while Kiyotaka Oshiyama is credited for creature designs. Kensuke Ushio is composing the music. The first trailer was revealed in June of last year. The studio previously announced plans to hire and train animators to work on this and future projects.

The anime is based on a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The first part originally ran from 2018 to 2020 and ended after 97 chapters and 11 volumes. The continuation, dubbed Part 2, began on July 13 on the Shonen Jump+ platformViz Media licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
