Bocchi the Rock Manga Author Draws PA-san for Anime Episode 9

Bocchi the Rock manga author, Aki Hamaji, posted an illustration of PA-san for the anime’s 9th episode on Saturday. The anime is airing every Saturday in Japan, with studio CloverWorks animating the adaptation. The manga creator drew Hitori Goto (Bocchi) for the previous, 8th episode.

The visual post came with a caption “The 10th episode will broadcast soon, but thank you for the 9th episode!“. The illustration features PA-san, the PA engineer for the music club STARRY, in her iconic attire, wearing black clothes with accessories such as a black choker and piercings. Near her face can be seen a text, her line, saying “I’m not particularly involved in the 9th episode…“. The author’s gratitude is written in the picture as well: “Thank you for Bocchi the Rock! Episode 9!“.

Aki Hamaji has been drawing the Bocchi the Rock 4-koma manga in Hobunsha’s monthly magazine Manga Time Kirara Max. The series released the fifth compiled volume on November 26, 2022. The anime has been airing since October 8.

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime this season and describes the plot as:
Hitori Gotoh, “Bocchi-chan,” is a girl who’s so introverted and shy around people that she’d always start her conversations with “Ah…” During her middle school years, she started playing the guitar, wanting to join a band because she thought it could be an opportunity for even someone shy like her to also shine. But because she had no friends, she ended up practicing guitar for six hours every day all by herself. After becoming a skilled guitar player, she uploaded videos of herself playing the guitar to the internet under the name “Guitar Hero” and fantasized about performing at her school’s cultural festival concert. But not only could she not find any bandmates, before she knew it, she was in high school and still wasn’t able to make a single friend! She was really close to becoming a shut-in, but one day, Nijika Ijichi, the drummer in Kessoku Band, reached out to her. And because of that, her everyday life started to change little by little…
