Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Manga Surpasses 22 Million Copies Worldwide With Final Volume

Aka Akasaka’s Kaguya-sama: Love is War manga released the final, 28th volume and its fanbook along with spin-off Kaguyasama wo Kataritai‘s final volume on Monday. The series surpassed 22 million circulating copies worldwide. The official website now offers wallpaper to celebrate the release of the series’ final volume.

The special wallpaper depicts the characters of the student council after the graduation ceremony; Miyuki Shirogane, Kaguya Shinomiya, Chika Fujiwara, Yu Ishigami, Miko Iino, and a cat named Gomanosuke. Three sizes are offered on the official website: 2560 x 1440 for computers, 2160 x 1920 for Android devices, and 1080 x 1920 for iPhones.

Aka Akasaka’s Kaguya-sama Love Is War manga launched in Shueisha’s monthly magazine Miracle Jump in May 2015 but was later moved to Weekly Young Jump magazine in March 2016. The series ended the 7-and-a-half-year-long serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in early November 2022. The manga inspired a TV anime series with three seasons by A-1 Pictures and several live-action film adaptations. A new anime project Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends-‘s theatrical screening premiered on December 17, 2022, and will be followed by a TV broadcast. Aka Akasaka released a statement regarding the finale of the manga series and announced his retirement as a manga artist along with his future activity to dedicate himself to story writing as an original writer of manga works.
