Tomo-chan Is a Girl anime released preview images for episode 2 along with its synopsis. The next episode is scheduled to broadcast on January 11. Studio Lay-duce is animating the adaptation which has been airing since January 4.
The next episode comes with two titles, “Tomo no Skirt (lit. Tomo’s Skirt)” and “Gakuen no Idol (lit. The School’s Idol).” With her good-looking appearance and her fluffy character, a British classmate of Tomo Aizawa (Rie Takahashi), Carol Olston (Sally Amaki), enjoys a great degree of popularity from male students in the school. Having been a fiancée of Kosuke Misaki (Kohei Amasaki), a senior member of the karate club and upper classman, she shows hostility against Tomo because of how friendly they are. Thanks to advice from Misuzu Gundo (Rina Hidaka), Carol decides to train with Junichiro Kubota (Kaito Ishikawa) in order to defeat Tomo. Hearing the news brings her to the training site.
Studio Lay-duce is animating Tomo-chan Is a Girl anime based on Fumita Yanagida’s debut manga of the same name that has been serialized on Seikaisha’s 4-panel manga service Twi4 from April 2015 to July 2019. The company published the final, 8th compiled volume in September 2019. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the Tomo-chan is a Girl manga for English releases and published the final volume in September 2020. The official website describes the plot of the series as:
