A Couple of Cuckoos anime revealed a new trailer, along with a new key visual and additional cast information today. Anime begins airing in 2022.
The announcement was scheduled and previously hinted at on the series’ official Twitter account.

Studios Synergy SP and Shin-Ei Animation are producing the anime which will air sometime in 2022. Yoshiyuki Shirahata (episode director for Great Pretender) is directing the anime. Aya Takano (Himouto! Umaru-chan) is doing character designs, while Yasuhiro Nakanishi is in charge of series composition.

Kaito Ishikawa and Akari Kito are starring as the main characters, Nagi and Erika.
The anime is based on a rom-com harem manga by Miki Yoshikawa. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2020 and is currently on chapter 74. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English. A light novel adaptation is also ongoing. Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English.
The story follows 16-year-old Nagi Umino. Nagi is a great student, but with a secret – he was accidentally switched at birth. One day he goes to meet his birth parents for dinner, and he accidentally meets Erika. Erika is loud and determined to convince Nagi to play her fake boyfriend since she doesn’t want to marry. However, once he makes it to dinner he realizes that his parents have an unusual plan. They want to fix the hospital’s mistake by getting him to marry the girl his birth parents raised. But, the girl turns out to be Erika and a chaotic situation ensues.
