Acro Trip anime has revealed a new key visual, along with confirming an October 2024 premiere date. Studio Voil, the new studio represented by former Geno Studio animation producer Takeo Otaka, is animating the series. It was announced back in January 2023.
Ayumu Kotake is directing the series, with Shinichi Inotsume in charge of the script. Toshie Kawamura is the character designer, and Ryo Tanaka is the sound director. The main cast for the Acro Trip anime includes:
- Miku Ito as Date Chizuko
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Chrome
- Inori Minase as Berry Blossom/Kaju Noichigo
- Kengo Kawanishi as Mashiro
Acro Trip manga was written and illustrated by Yone Sawata. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Ribon shojo magazine from February 2017 to December 2022 and compiled into five volumes. The series was also recommended by Aka Akasaka, the creator Kaguya-sama: Love is War and author OSHI NO KO.
Acro Trip follows the story of Date Chizuko, an otaku girl obsessed with the magical girl Berry Blossom, who protects her city. However, Berry’s enemy–Chroma from the evil organization Fossa Magna–is inept and weak, so no one is interested in their fights. Chizuko then vows to explore the various exploits of the magical girl herself.
