Attack on Titan Finale Crashes Crunchyroll

The long-awaited Attack on Titan anime finale has finally hit Crunchyroll, quite literally, as the streaming platform’s website is currently down. The episode, which premiered some 9 hours ago in Japan, was set for a 5 pm PST release with English subtitles. The Crunchyroll website is currently struggling to load, and the apps are down and displaying an “Oops, something went wrong message.” For users who managed to get in early, the episode is loading fine.

This is not the first time that Attack on Titan managed to crash Crunchyroll: a similar situation happened with both Crunchyroll and Funimation in January 2022 when Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 premiered. The finale, licensed as  Attack on Titan The Final Season: The Final Chapters Part 2, marks the end of the 10-year-long adaptation. Hajime Isayama participated in the making of the finale, as revealed earlier this week.

Crunchyroll describes the plot of the finale as:
The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Eren unleashes the ultimate power of the Titans. With a burning determination to eliminate all who threaten Eldia, he leads an unstoppable army of Colossal Titans towards Marley. Now a motley crew of his former comrades and enemies scramble to halt his deadly mission, the only question is, can they stop him?
