Ai Higuchi had previously performed the Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 ending song, “Akuma no Ko.” The voice actor for Attack on Titan‘s Eren Yeager, Yuki Kaji, quoted Higuchi’s post on X, replying, “I felt like I was able to experience Mikasa’s feelings again. Thank you Ai Higuchi-san. Today, tomorrow, be grateful,” he spoke to his 1m+ followers on X, “Good night.” However, his words and Ai Higuchi’s “Itterasshai” will likely reach far more than that. The finale to Attack on Titan which first began airing in April 2015 was one of the most anticipated episodes in anime history, crashing Crunchyroll servers shortly before the special was meant to air and according to many fans, sticking the landing, described by Anime Corner’s Tamara as “the ending we’ve been waiting for.”

Crunchyroll describes the plot of the finale as:
The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Eren unleashes the ultimate power of the Titans. With a burning determination to eliminate all who threaten Eldia, he leads an unstoppable army of Colossal Titans towards Marley. Now a motley crew of his former comrades and enemies scramble to halt his deadly mission, the only question is, can they stop him?
