Ayakashi Triangle is based on a manga written by Kentaro Yabuki. The manga originally started in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine but was moved to Shonen Jump+ in April of this year. The manga is licensed for simulpub in North America; initially by Viz Media for the Shonen Jump website and for Shueisha’s MangaPLUS website. However, after the release of chapters 74-75 was skipped on both platforms, Viz Media removed the listings for the manga from its website. Seven Seas Entertainment has since picked up the manga and plans to release it in English in an uncensored version. MangaPLUS is still publishing new chapters.
Seven Seas describes the plot of Ayakashi Triangle as:
Matsuri Kazamaki’s job as an exorcist ninja means that his livelihood depends on driving away the ayakashi spirits who endanger humans. He’s been protecting his childhood friend, Suzu Kanade, from the shadows for years, as she effortlessly attracts ayakashi. What will happen when Suzu encounters a creature who looks like a simple cat, but who is really Shirogane, the king of ayakashi?
This supernatural romcom with a gender-bender twist from blockbuster artist Kentaro Yabuki is currently being serialized digitally in English through Viz’s Shonen Jump program and Shueisha’s Manga Plus service. Seven Seas will release Ayakashi Triangle in print and on digital platforms in uncut single volume editions as part of Seven Seas’ Ghost Ship imprint.
