Black Clover Season 2 Officially Announced With Anime Teaser Visual & Trailer, Coming to Crunchyroll

Black Clover anime is officially returning in 2026 with a sequel Season 2 TV anime, as announced at Anime Expo 2025 with a visual and trailer. While international fans may be confused due to the Seasons 1-4, the anime was aired consecutively in Japan and all 170 episodes are considered a single season. Studio Pierrot is back to handle the animation production.

The announcement was made at Crunchyroll’s industry panel at the event, and you find both the new visual and trailer below:

The author of the manga, Yuki Tabata, commented:
“The production of the long-awaited new anime season of Black Clover has been confirmed! I’m beyond ecstatic going into the new anime season after the super-passionate movie that came out! Black Clover Season 2 – Anime Visual | Sequel Coming to Crunchyroll

A Japanese version of the visual was also released a few hours after the panel, featuring the same Asta art with a red background.

The Black Clover manga was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 2015 to August 2023, before transferring to Jump GIGA. It entered its final arc in August 2022. The manga is available to read on Viz Media’s website, MANGA Plus website, and the Shonen Jump mobile app in English. 

It received a 170-episode anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot, which ran from 2017 to 2021. The Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King movie premiered on June 16 and is streaming on Netflix.

In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day.
