Blue Box Season 2 has been officially announced following today’s finale of the first season. Netflix began streaming the final episode worldwide on March 27 (or March 28 depending on your timezone), while the anime ended in Japan last week.
You can see the episode’s end card, which was shared along with a message:
“Thank you for supporting Taiki and the others over the course of two cours (seasons)!
Please look forward to how their emotions and relationships will continue to change in Season 2.”
The announcement was previously teased, with a special video pre-scheduled for right after the episode finished.
Character designer Miho Tanino also shared a special illustration, which doubles as a Season 2 celebration and a happy birthday illustration for the author Koji Miura, who was born on March 28, 2025.
Koji Miura writes and draws the manga for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga began serialization in April 2021 and has 18 published volumes as of Decenber 2025. The series follows the story between Taiki, a highschool badminton player, and his basketball-loving crush, Chinatsu.

Chinatsu started living together with Taiki right from the start, and they both aimed for success in their respective sports as they gradually got closer to each other.
The anime adaptation by Telecom Animation Film began in October 2024 and ran for two consecutive cours until today, March 27, 2025. Yuichiro Yano directed, with series composition by Yuko Kakihara, character design by Miho Tanino, and music by Takashi Omama. Serving as chief animation directors were Shinobu Isoko, Miho Tanino, Manabu Nii, and Aya Miyajima. The voice cast for the Blue Box anime consists of the following members:
- Yuma Uchida as Kengo Hanyu
- Shoya Chiba as Taiki Inomata
- Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano
- Akari Kito as Hina Chono
- Chiaki Kobayashi as Kyo Kasahara
