The upcoming Blue Lock Season 2 revealed a key visual. The sequel will premiere on October 5, 2024, and it will run for 14 episodes. Studio 8bit is animating. The new season will cover the U-20 JAPAN arc and is titled BLUE LOCK vs. U-20 JAPAN.
Blue Lock Season 2 recently previewed its opening theme song, “Bojaku no Charisma” by Unison Square Garden. The cast is reprising their roles from the first season and the main cast got an updated look for the sequel, with new uniforms:

Yuji Haibara is the chief director of Blue Lock Season 2 and Shintaro Inokawa is the director. Taku Kishimoto is doing the character designs with original author Mineyuki Kaneshiro on story composition. Kenji Tanabe is returning as the character designer (Kento Toya, who also worked as a character designer on the first season is not). Jun Murayama is composing the music.
Speaking to Anime Corner at this year’s Anime Expo, producer Ryoya Arisawa hinted at a more refined animation experience: ” After going through TV and theater, I think we have created a more refined and cooler visual presentation, kind of like a culmination. Of course, the content of the matches is important, but I hope everyone also sees the evolution of the direction. As I mentioned before, during the first season we were trying to meet deadlines and try to get it on time for air, but this time we got the hang of it and we are trying to bring something new to the table.”
Crunchyroll is streaming the first season of the Blue Lock anime and has already confirmed streaming of the second season this fall. The streaming platform describes the plot:

The prequel Blue Lock: Episode Nagi movie premiered worldwide this summer. The movie will begin streaming on Prime Video in Japan on September 1.
