BLUE LOCK Season 2 managed to top the Fall 2024 anime ranking in week 12 (final), ending BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War’s 4-week streak. The anime had 8.73% of the votes after Shido’s breakthrough episode, with 9,385 people participating in the voting. BLEACH came in second with 8.26%, while 2.5 Dimensional Seduction and Blue Box both ranked up and completed the top 5 along with DAN DA DAN.
Fall 2024 Anime Awards voting will open on Monday, December 23.

Muneyuki Kaneshiro writes the BLUE LOCK manga, with art by Yusuke Nomura. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English. The story follows BLUE LOCK, the project to create the ultimate egoistical striker that will take Japan to a World Cup trophy.
We had the chance to interview Kazuki Ura (Isagi’s Japanese voice actor), Ryoya Arisawa (anime producer), and Megumu Tsuchiya (manga editor) at this year’s Anime Expo. We talked with them about working on the manga and anime series, the challenges they faced in creating the work loved by fans worldwide, as well as what to expect from the ongoing Season 2.
Ryota Arisawa also answered fan questions recently, where he said he is ‘far from satisfied’ with the adaptation and compared himself to the soccer players always trying to be better.
The anime by 8bit will end next week with the double-episode finale.
