Toei Animation revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie during New York Comic-Con on Thursday, which confirmed Broly’s appearance. One of the community’s favorite characters is shown for a split-second in a moment of sparring with Goku during the trailer.
This will be Dragon Ball Super’s second film of the series after Dragon Ball Super: Broly premiered back in 2018. It will also be the 21st film of the entire Dragon Ball series. The timeline of the film will take place between the previous movie and the ending of Dragon Ball Z.
Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 looked to be two of the primary antagonists of the movie along with others from the Red Ribbon Army. For more on those characters and their designs, check here.
CGI Controversy
Some fans are split on the new trailer due to the use of CG characters. However, the action scenes do look incredible. The trailer also teases some interesting moments. One of those is Pan possibly going Super Saiyan which obviously shows Piccolo’s influence in the upcoming movie. And who doesn’t love Pan and Piccolo?
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will hit the theaters sometime in 2022. Akira Toriyama, the original creator of Dragon Ball, announced before that he was in charge of the original screenplay and character designs for the movie. He also let fans know that during the making of Broly, he was already working on the script for Super Hero.
The Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie trailer hasn’t been uploaded to any official channels yet. The fans were able to see it on the Comic-Con live stream. It will be available as video-on-demand on Metaverse for the next 30 days.
