CyberAgent-subsidiary Applibot Inc. announced it will launch the smartphone app Chiikawa Pocket in 43 regions in late March 2025. The app is based on the popular Chiikawa manga by illustrator Nagano and is designed around the concept of “being with Chiikawa and friends, anytime, anywhere,” immersing players in the world of Chiikawa.

Chiikawa Pocket‘s country availability includes Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, the United States, and more. A pre-registration campaign has opened ahead of the official release, offering rewards based on the number of signups. In Japan, this has already reached 1 million; the goal is to reach 1.5 million pre-registrations worldwide. You can see the rewards below.

Nagano’s popular Chiikawa manga series began serialization on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. The story of Chiikawa and friends, who lead lives that are fun, bittersweet, and sometimes a little tough, has gained wide popularity among both adults and children, with the number of X followers surpassing 3.7 million to date.
Chiikawa also won the Grand Prix at the 2022 Japan Character Awards and the 2024 Japan Character Awards. The series was listed among Kodansha’s best-selling manga in the second half of 2024, topping the seinen physical manga release category.
The Chiikawa anime adaptation is currently airing in Japan and is available for limited-time catch-up streaming on the official YouTube channel. HIDIVE licensed the series overseas.

In other news, CyberAgent recently announced the relaunch of its North American subsidiary CyberAgent America (CA America), developing localized strategies to market its anime productions overseas. It’s producing Apocalypse Hotel in 2025 alongside its anime production company CygamesPictures, and COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing. GKIDS will distribute the film in the U.S., marking the two companies’ first collaboration. Shochiku distributed it in Japan.
