Studio TRIGGER has introduced the second character, D, for the CYBERPUNK EDGERUNNERS 2 sequel anime. Fans at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival had the chance to see a teaser earlier this week, while Weak Kingsley was previously introduced. An announcement is set for June 29.
The new anime will be a 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077, earlier described as “a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge”. It will be directed by Kai Ikarashi, who directed Episode 6 of the original anime titled “Girl on Fire.” Ichigo Kanno is the character designer, while screenplay will be handled by Masahiko Otsuka. It was also previously confirmed that Netflix will be streaming the new series.

CD PROJEKT RED (or CDPR) is the company behind the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. Studio TRIGGER also animated the first CYBERPUNK: EDGE RUNNERS anime series, which was released in September 2022 and also had a total of 10 episodes.
