Days with My Stepsister anime claimed the top of the Summer 2024 ranking in week 3, following a captivating and atmospheric episode. Previously holding 2nd place in week 2, the series’ third episode was impressive with its direction and grounded approach to the romance genre, setting it apart from other shows airing this season and earning its first place. Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (Roshidere) wasn’t too far behind though with only 0.2% difference, nearly maintaining its top spot for a third consecutive week.

The original creator of the series, Ghost Mikawa, also shared the ranking on X (formerly Twitter) and expressed their delight in knowing that many people love the story. Mikawa assured fans that episodes four and beyond will maintain the same high quality:

Studio Deen is animating the series with Takehiro Ueno as director. Mitsutaka Hirota wrote the scripts and Manabu Nii designed the characters. The cast includes:

- Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri
- Ayu Suzuki as Maaya Narasaka
- Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru

Days with My Step Sister (Gimai Seikatsu) is a mix-media project that initially started on YouTube. The light novel version of the series is written by Ghost Mikawa and illustrated by Hiten. It began its publication in January 2021 by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint. A manga adaptation by Yumika Kanade was launched online in Kadokawa Shoten’s Shonen Ace Plus in July 2021.
