Dr. Stone anime is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, and a special visual has been released as part of the celebration. The anime began in 2019, and has the final season in production. The new visual was drawn by Takashi Muratani, who was part of the staff for each installment of the anime.
Written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, the Dr. STONE manga ended after 5 years of serialization on March 7, 2022. It had a total of 232 chapters, and you can read it on VIZ or MANGA Plus. VIZ describes the story:
One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
The first season of the Dr. Stone anime adaptation began airing in the Summer of 2019 anime season and had 24 episodes. The second season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, started in January 2021 and ran for 11 episodes. The series also received a special episode focusing on Ryusui in July 2022. The third, Stone: New World, ran for 23 episodes over 2 split cours in 2023. The fourth season was announced as the final one immediately after the finale of season 3.
Studio TMS Entertainment animated the first three seasons, with Crunchyroll streaming all of them. Netflix is also streaming seasons 1 and 2.
