Following in the same vein as other Fate works, Fate/Samurai Remnant follows an alternate timeline Holy Grail War, named the “Waxing Moon Ritual,” and is set during the Edo period of Japan. The game follows Miyamoto Iori as he becomes a Master of Saber, and must reckon with his role as a peacekeeping ronin in a time just after the end of the Sengoku period. Iori was trained by the legendary Japanese swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, who is later summoned as an energetic female Berserker; Iori also studied under Sasaki Kojirou, a character who appears as “False Assassin” in Fate/stay night and its adaptations.

Fate/Samurai Remnant’s manga will be illustrated by Mugetsu, who previously worked on Fate/Grand Order: Holy Grail Front, has provided artwork for Fate/Grand Order, and illustrated a prequel manga to Fate/Samurai Remnant.

Further details including a release window for the Fate/Samurai Remnant manga have yet to be announced. In the meantime, you can check out the recent release of Fate/stay night REMASTERED which gives audiences the first official English localization in twenty years since the visual novel was first released.
