Benimaru and Joker wrecking havoc in Fire Force in the latest episode was awesome. Then again, Sakurasawa Sumi made her debut in Kanojo, Okarishimasu in Episode 11 of the show. Maybe that is why those two are both currently among the most popular shows on Neflix Japan. To be more precise, Fire Force is ranked 1st, while Kanokari ranks 4th. They are obviously the most popular anime shows, as Korean dramas occupy the 2nd and 3rd spots.
The author of Kanojo, Okarishimasu, Miyajima Reiji, took note of this and shared the announcement on his Twitter:
Kanokari will end with Episode 12 this week, while Fire Force still has an entire cour left. Do you think these shows deserve the popularity and to be among the 4 most popular shows on Neflix Japan? Kanokari did rank 2nd on our latest (11th) Weekly Poll, where Fire Force ranked 7th.
In case you’re wondering, Fire Force also has Season 1 (24 episodes), and follows firefighters with supernatural powers as they try to figure out the source behind spontaneous human combustion. It’s an action shonen anime. On the other hand, Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Rent-A-Girlfriend) is a romance comedy which follows a student who learns of a service where he can pay for a girlfriend and his experiences with it. The biggest charm of the show are the multiple girls, all of who have adorable voice actresses in addition to their cute appearances. I definitely recommend checking out both of the shows if either fits your preferences.
Fire Force also recently released a new Key Visual for its latest arc:
Also worth remembering is that Re:Zero was the most watched show a bit over 10 days ago (as reported by Netflix Japan on September 10).
