After last week’s intense episode of Fruits Basket: The Final, fans are surely eager for answers. The Fruits Basket official Japanese Twitter posted the preview images for episode 7 of Fruits Basket: The Final on May 14, 2021. Judging by the released images, the episode will focus largely on Akito, with some flashbacks from her childhood.
It looks like we’ll be learning more about the relationship between Akito and her deceased father. At the beginning of the season, we were shown flashbacks of him telling Akito that she was born to be loved. His words likely contributed to Akito’s current attitude towards the Soma clan. The preview images also show a woman (perhaps Akito’s mother) holding a mysterious black box tied with a ribbon.
However, the most shocking image is the one showing someone pointing a knife at Akito. From the long, red nails we can deduce that the person is likely a woman. Akito doesn’t have many allies left, so it could be anyone.
The title for the upcoming episode, according to the official Fruits Basket Twitter account, is “Yes, It’s Empty”. This title may be referring to the box that is shown in the preview images of episode 7 of Fruits Basket: The Final. View the full Twitter post below:
Another preview image shows a young Shigure, Kureno, Ayame, and Hatori. Thus, we might get more insight into the relationships between Akito and the older Soma clan members.
