The previously announced Fureru (Touch) movie revealed the main trailer featuring the “Monotone” theme song by YOASOBI and an October 4 premiere date. The cast includes:
- Ren Nagase as Aki Onoda
- Ryota Bando as Ryo Sobue
- Kentao Maeda as Yuta Inohara
- Haruka Shiraishi as Juri Kamozawa
- Manaka Iwami as Nana Asakawa
- Sarutoki Minagawa as Wakita
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Kohei Shimada
The movie was created by Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, The Anthem of the Heart, and Her Blue Sky creators: Tatsuyuki Nagai is the director, Mari Okada is the scriptwriter, and Masayoshi Tanaka is the character designer. Studio CloverWorks is animating the movie, which also revealed a new key visual:
Aniplex and STORY inc. are producing the movie, which will be distributed by Toho and Aniplex. The movie teased the return of the trio that is known for its “heart-shaking” trilogy (the movies mentioned above).
This will be Nagai’s first major directorial work since A Certain Scientific Railgun T in 2020. In addition to the aforementioned movies and the Railgun series, he is known for Honey and Clover II and Toradora. Masayoshi Tanaka and Mari Okada also worked on Toradora. Tanaka’s major works include the hit movies Your Name, Weathering With You, and Suzume, while Okada is known for her work on Black Butler, Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, and O Maidens in Your Savage Season. Her latest movie, Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou, premiered in Japan last year and is now available to stream on Netflix, where it dropped on January 15.
Studio CloverWorks’ notable works include Rascal Does Not Dream series, My Dress-Up Darling, Wonder Egg Priority, Spy x Family and more.
