The Girls Band Cry multimedia project revealed a new band, Canna Lily, during the official livestream for the Girls Band Cry First Riff mobile game. A trailer introducing the members was also released.
Canna Lily members are as follows:
- Vocals: Kaede Kitsuta (voiced by Yuwa Yano)
- Guitar: Ayame Hoshi (voiced by Rine Hayasaka)
- Bass: Shion Sakakibara (voiced by Kisaki Shinotsuki)
- Keyboard: Nazuna Yukishima (voiced by Sakura Sano)
- Drums: Rindo Chigasaki (voiced by Arune Shiina)
The band’s first One-man live was also announced and it will be held on June 26, 2026, at Daikanyama UNIT.
The Girls Band Cry multimedia project spans anime, music, manga, webtoon, and games. The original anime by studio Toei Animation aired from April to June 2024 in Japan. Kazuo Sakai directed the series with Jukki Hanada writing the series composition, Nari Teshima designing the characters, and Kenji Tamai composing the music. The main cast includes:
- Rina as Nina Iseri
- Yuuri as Momoka Kawaragi
- Mirei as Subaru Awa
- Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka
- Shuri as Rupa
An all-new Girls Band Cry movie is also currently in production. The anime series is available to stream on Crunchyroll and they describe the plot as follows:
Feeling out of place in the countryside, high school dropout Nina Iseri moves to Tokyo. After a rough first day and getting locked out of her apartment, she meets her favorite guitarist, Momoka Kawaragi. The two put on a street performance together and decide to start a band with three other girls. While each girl faces her own struggles, their passion for music keeps their dreams alive.
