Rockstar Games released a new trailer Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), which is scheduled for a May 26, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release date was announced on May 2, and it marks a delay from the previously anticipated 2025 launch. The company cited the need for additional development time to meet quality expectations.
The first official trailer for GTA VI was released on December 4, 2023. The game is set in Vice City, a fictional city inspired by Miami, within the state of Leonida. The official synopsis is described:
Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.
