Blizzard Entertainment has expanded its recently announced Diablo and Berserk crossover with a music collaboration featuring Finnish heavy metal band Beast in Black. The band has released a new original track, “Enter The Behelit,” obviously inspired by Kentaro Miura’s legendary dark fantasy manga Berserk and Blizzard’s popular RPG franchise.
The song, created specifically for the crossover, channels Beast in Black’s clear admiration for Berserk, a huge influence on the band’s lyrical themes ever since their formation in 2015. Their debut album, Berserker (2017), was already heavily inspired by Miura’s manga, with tracks like “Blind and Frozen,” “Born Again,” and “Zodd the Immortal.”
“Enter the Behelit” carries on the tradition. Speaking about the song’s inspiration, guitarist and primary songwriter Anton Kabanen shared that the track draws from the perspective of Berserk’s mysterious character known as Nobody, or the Egg of the Perfect World.
“While being a multilayered song, I want to emphasize that the core of Enter the Behelit stems from a Berserk manga character referred to as Nobody / Egg of the Perfect World, and his immeasurable suffering, surroundings, and downfall,” Kabanen explained. “Parallelly, many of the lines are also connected to a character called the Demon Child, and my personal life as well. But in simple terms, the song is a sort of a subconscious dialogue between Nobody and his behelit, mirroring one another.”
The song is available on all the major digital streaming platforms, while you can watch the music video below.
The video was directed by award-winning filmmaker Katri Ilona Koppanen, while the production was supported by Blizzard. The full credits can be found at the end of the video, while some of them include:
