Voice actress Hina Yomiya joins the upcoming Trapezium anime film as Kurumi Taiga, a friend of the main protagonist Yu Higashi. The voice actress also commented on the role she’s playing:
Kurumi is very cute, but at the same time, she has a strong core. I had to think a lot about how I could express the feelings that were growing inside Kurumi so that I could be close to her.
For me, “Trapezium” is the first animated feature film that I have been involved in. I am looking forward to seeing Kurumi and her friends on the big screen. I hope you are looking forward to seeing them on the big screen too!
The film is set to release on May 10, 2024. Taiga’s character design has also been unveiled:
Studio CloverWorks is animating the film with Masahiro Shinohara as director while Koji Masunari is supervising the film. Yuuko Kakihara is writing the script, Rio is designing the characters, and Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music. MAISONdes and Hoshimachi Suisei will perform together the theme song of the film. Aside from Hina Yomiya, the announced other cast member of Trapezium is Asaki Yuikawa as Yu Higashi.
The film is based on a novel series by former Nogizaka46 member Kazumi Takayama. It was serialized in Kadokawa’s Da Vinci imprint from 2016 to 2018 and also published as a book. The plot follows Yu Higashi, who to succeed sets a few rules for herself: she will not use social media, she will not have a boyfriend, and she will make friends with girls from all over the world.
