The previously revealed Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable anime revealed a new visual and trailer starring one of its main characters, Sayuri Akino (voiced by Yumiri Hanamori). The anime’s official website also released Hanamori’s comments about her character and her thoughts about the series in general.
Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable is scheduled to premiere in January 2024 and previously unveiled a character visual and trailer for Minami Fuyuki. Studios SILVER LINK and BLADE are collaborating in animating the series with Mirai Minato as chief director and scriptwriter and Misuzu Hoshino as director. Katsuyuki Sato is designing the characters. The cast consists of:
- Ayane Sakura as Minami Fuyuki
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Tsubasa Shiki
- Yumiri Hanamori as Sayuri Akino
- Reina Ueda as Rena Natsukawa
Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable (Dosanko Gyaru wa Namaramenkoi) is based on a manga written and illustrated by Kai Ikada. The serialization began on the Shonen Jump+ platform in September 2019 and currently has 11 volumes in circulation. The manga is available to read (for free) on Shueisha’s MangaPLUS platform and they described the plot as follows:
High school boy Tsubasa moves to Kitami City up in Hokkaido, where he meets a “gal” at a bus stop. The sight of her standing alone against the white snowscape, bare-legged despite the freezing cold, captures his heart.
