The manga Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san is getting an anime film adaptation by Production I.G, and a teaser visual has been released. The anime film is set to be released this fall, with Aniplex distributing it. Check out the visual below:
Yoshimi Itazu (key animation for Paprika, Birthday Wonderland, and The Wind Rises) will serve as the film director, while Satomi Ooshima (series composition for Raven of the Inner Palace) will serve as the scriptwriter. The director commented:
We created this film with the aim of depicting the variety of animals that symbolize life difficulties through simple drawing, delicate details, and rich animation, just as in the original work. I hope many people will watch this film.

The official site for the film describes the synopsis as:
Akino started working at the “Hokkyoku Department Store” as a new concierge,
The department store is a mysterious place where all the customers are animals.
Akino is determined to become a full-fledged concierge, but she struggles to become one under the watchful eye of the floor manager and senior concierges, with all kinds of problems appearing before her.
Among them are “V.I.A.” (Very Important Animals), an extinct species, a unique group of customers who have their own unique characteristics.
The film Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san (The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store) is based on a manga series of the same name by Tsuchika Nishimura. He is known for his other manga series such as Sayounara Minasan (2012), Nakayoshi Dan no Bouken (2010), Eisbahn: Nishimura Tsuchika Tanpenshuu (2011), and Kawaisou na Mayumi-san (2010).
The manga was serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Zokan from February 2017 to November 2018. It won the Excellence Award at the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2022.
