Hunter x Hunter is commemorating the Volume 38 release with a special Phantom Troupe trailer. The volume is releasing today, September 4, in Japan, and will include chapters 391 through 400. It teases “The past of the Phantom Troupe is finally revealed!”
Yoshihiro Togashi also shared a new update today, saying that he managed to successfully complete the color manuscript he’d been working on, but that his back pain has worsened. He has been drawing the Hunter x Hunter manga since March 1998. It is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, while it returned after a 4-year hiatus in October 2022.
Since then, there have been irregular releases, and the manga was confirmed to be moving away from a weekly schedule in December 2022. Togashi shares occasional updates on his X account, and a new chapter will be released in the magazine on October 7.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, describing the story:
Gon, a young boy who lives on Whale Island, dreams of becoming a Hunter like his father, who left when Gon was still young.
