HUNTER x HUNTER: NEN IMPACT 2D fighting game has revealed a Summer 2025 release date. The game’s title is stylized as HUNTER×HUNTER NEN×IMPACT, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. It was originally scheduled to release this year.
We had the chance to play a demo at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, while they will also give fans a chance to play it at this year’s Jump Festa.
We had the opportunity to interview Tomoyasu Miyazaki, Chief Operating Officer of Bushiroad Games, one of the game’s publishers alongside Arc System Works. We spoke about the game’s development, their challenges, and plans for its future. He also spoke about their focus on respecting the IP and showing off all the Nen abilities properly.
Yoshihiro Togashi has been drawing the HUNTER x HUNTER manga since March 1998. It is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, having returned after a 4-year hiatus in October 2022.
Since then, there have been irregular releases, and the manga was confirmed to be moving away from a weekly schedule in December 2022. It released Volume 38 on September 4 in Japan, while Chapter 401 was released in the WSJ magazine on October 7. The manga is now on break again, with Togashi recently sharing a new update on current progress.
Crunchyroll streams the anime, describing the story:
Gon, a young boy who lives on Whale Island, dreams of becoming a Hunter like his father, who left when Gon was still young.
