Arc System Works has officially announced an official trailer and worldwide release date for HUNTER x HUNTER: NEN IMPACT. Fans of the legendary manga and anime series by Yoshihiro Togashi will be able to enjoy the fighting game from July 17, 2025, which is when the game will launch worldwide.
The game will be available both physically and digitally for PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™, and PC via Steam. Digital preorders for the PlayStation®5 and Steam begin today.
The First HUNTER x HUNTER Fighting Game Goes Global
For the first time ever, HUNTER x HUNTER will make its debut in the fighting game genre. HUNTER x HUNTER: NEN IMPACT (stylized as HUNTERxHUNTER NENxIMPACT) will feature 16 playable characters at launch, each drawn from the 2011 anime adaptation. Players can experience their favorite characters’ “unique combat styles and powerful Nen abilities in intense battles.”
Preorders and Exclusive Bonuses
Players who preorder the digital version on Steam and PlayStation®5 will receive exclusive bonuses, including early access and special character color variations:
- Deluxe Edition owners get 48-hour early access and an exclusive Killua (PS5) and Hisoka (PC) color variant.
- Nintendo Switch™ preorder bonuses include a special color for Gon (preorders will open at a later date).
Physical Editions and Special Collector’s Items
In addition to the digital release, HUNTER x HUNTER: NEN x IMPACT will also be available in physical form for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Two editions will be available for preorder soon:

Game Modes: Play Your Way
The game will feature multiple modes to accommodate different types of players:
Offline Modes:
- Free Battle Mode: Local matches against friends, family, or CPU opponents.
- Training Mode: Includes settings for practicing and recording combos.
- Story Mode: Relive iconic moments from the HUNTERxHUNTER anime and play through set battle scenarios.
- Single Mode: Includes the Sky Arena, where players battle to become the “Floor Master,” and Combo Trials, which challenge players to execute complex combos.
Online Modes:
- Player Matches: Casual battles with friends or other players.
- Ranked Matches: Compete to earn the title of Triple Hunter by accumulating Rank Points.
- G.I. Cards Collection: Earn collectible Greed Island Cards to personalize online profiles.
With rollback netcode available on PS5 and Steam, the game promises smooth online gameplay.
New DLC Character Announcement
As part of post-launch content, Neferpito from the Chimera Ant Arc will be introduced as a DLC character. Players can obtain Neferpito individually or through the Deluxe Edition. The character is also the first entry in Season Pass 1, set for Winter 2025, with additional characters to be announced later.

HUNTER x HUNTER: NEN IMPACT is a 3-on-3 tag-based fighting game that allows players to assemble their own teams, featuring both “iconic alliances and unexpected matchups.” Players can swap characters mid-battle and use support attacks, creating a dynamic and strategic combat experience.

Created by Yoshihiro Togashi, HUNTER x HUNTER has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1998 and remains one of the most iconic manga series of all time. The manga returned after a 4-year hiatus in October 2022, and Togashi now shares occasional updates on his X account.
He recently shared in a December 2024 update that he is working on reviewing the dialogue and timeline for the next 50 manga chapters. Once done, he plans to resume the inking and other work on the manuscripts that have been on hold.
