The upcoming In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki anime adaptation revealed a new trailer, a second key visual, and April 9 premiere date. Studio CloverWorks is animating the series.
The main cast for the anime includes Yuko Natsuyoshi as Tsubaki, Miyari Nemoto as Sazanaka, and Sayumi Suzushiro as Asagao. Yumi Uchiyama and M・A・O were also cast recently, as well as Marika Kouno, Maria Naganawa, and Yo Taichi. The peggies are performing the opening theme which is titled “Highlight Highlight”.
Takudai Kakuchi is directing the anime, which is his directorial debut. He previously directed single episodes on titles such as March Comes in like a Lion and My Hero Academia. Shugo Konomi, who worked as a screenwriter on Aikatsu Friends!, is overseeing the series composition, while Yosuke Okuda (Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom) is doing character designs. Yusuke Shirato is composing the music.
The isolationist all-girls Akane Clan mainly consists of young kunoichi in training. Their teachings are strict and there is one rule they all must follow: Interacting with men is forbidden, as they are dangerous creatures. However, a trainee Kunoichi Tsubaki suddenly starts feeling strange… It’s like her heart flickers whenever the subject of boys comes up.
