Weathernews’ reporter Saya Hiyama posted her cosplay as Yor Forger from Spy x Family on Twitter, and the post received more than 164k likes on the platform as of the time of writing.
Saya Hiyama updated her Twitter on June 26 with four photos of her Spy x Family cosplay as Yor Forger, wearing the female assassin’s black dress and pair of golden hair ornaments. The photos taken by her mother’s cousin show her from various distances and angles. The post simply says “Spy x Family Thorn Princess🥀 Yor Forger”.
In reply to her colleague’s praise for the cosplay calling the cosplay pretty, she joked: “Thank you✨ My chest is nowhere near enough [to the character], but I stood tall and gave it my all🤣”.
She has more than 340k followers on the platform and anime is one of her favorites hobbies. Her June 17 Twitter photo post captioned briefly “Shafudo” where she did the pose during Weathernews Live received more than 145k likes. It’s a slang term for animation studio Shaft’s iconic character posing known as “Shaft Head Tilt” overseas. At the stream, she introduced a new CM of Weathernews narrated by Hiroshi Kamiya and it led to her talk over the Monogatari series and Koyomi Aararagi, whom the voice actor voiced in the anime. She first imitated Hitagi Senjogahara’s pose (Monogatari series) and moved into the posture you can see in the screenshot she posted.
“So surprised how Shafudo went viral? this much…” she expressed her confusion later about the growth of the post.
The Yor Forger cosplay is not her first cosplay experience. In February 2021, Weathernews Live’s official TikTok account posted a video with her to point out what likely causes static electricity in winter and spring outfits, including cosplays of Haruhi Suzumiya and Violet Evergarden, so that you can pay attention to the electricity that lets pollen stick to your clothes.

In early June 2022, the cosplayer posted a photo of her dressed as Violet Evergarden on Instagram. “I am pleased to make your acquaintance. If it is your wish, I will travel anywhere to meet your request. Auto Memory Doll, Violet Evergarden, at your service.” she captioned the post by quoting the character’s greeting. The reporter has more than 270k followers on the photo-sharing platform.
Yor Forger is a female assassin from Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family manga on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ manga service. The work has been running since March 2019. WIT Studio and CloverWorks are animating the adaptation, and Part 1 aired from April 9 to June 25, 2022. Part 2 is set for October 2022.
