Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has revealed new legal-themed illustrations of Frieren and Aura as part of the Sunday Cultural Festival 2025. The illustrations feature Frieren as a judge and Aura standing trial, and they were drawn specially for this year’s event theme: career experience.

The campaign is organized by Weekly Shonen Sunday, the magazine which has been serializing Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End since 2020. This year’s illustrations show characters from across the magazine’s lineup in various professional roles. In the case of Frieren, it’s the pairing of Frieren and Aura in a courtroom.
Other featured illustrations that have been released so far include Ran Mori from Detective Conan as a childcare worker, Albus from Kaiten no Albus as a florist, and Hiiro from Sora e… as a martial artist.
Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with illustrations from Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020. The manga is available to read via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website, while Crunchyroll streams the anime. Season 2 is set to premiere in January 2026.
