A new key visual for the “Cursed Womb” arc from Jujutsu Kaisen‘s first season was revealed on Saturday during Anime Japan 2022. The first season is currently being rebroadcast in Japan.
The Curse Womb Arc centers around Itadori, Nobara, and Megumi as they investigate a certain curse womb with the capability to spawn a special grade curse spirit. The arc, covering episodes four and five, provided fans with many intense fights, including one that ended up being between Megumi and Sukuna.
A part of the panel was dedicated to the much anticipated “Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade” mobile game for the series will release for iOS/Android later this year. The “Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade” will feature an original story that is not a part of the anime or the manga storyline. The game recently received an opening video by studio MAPPA. The video also features the theme song “Avant” by singer and songwriter Eve:
The success of the series grew exponentially after season one of the anime aired. Not only did the anime boost manga circulation by 590% as reported by Shueisha, but the series ended up being the best-selling manga of 2021 as well. The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film became the 22nd highest-grossing film of all time in Japan earlier this month. The widely popular film also had a solid debut at the US Box Office making $17.7 million on opening weekend.
The manga currently has 18 volumes published with over 60 million copies in circulation as of December 2021. The cover for volume 19 was revealed and will officially release in Japan on April 4, 2022. Meanwhile, season two of the anime was confirmed for 2023 back in February during a special screening of the recently released movie.
