Witch Hat Atelier will no longer be released simultaneously with the Japanese version on the K MANGA platform. New English releases will now come a week later. Witch Hat Atelier‘s English release had previously suffered multiple delays, which K MANGA addresses in a statement via X below:
“Dear fans and readers,
Thank you for reading Witch Hat Atelier. After discussing with the author of this series, we have decided to change the release schedule of the English translation of Witch Hat Atelier. Due to tight scheduling between the draft process and translation, instead of publishing simultaneously, the English translation will now be released one week after the Japanese version. We offer our deepest apologies to the fans and readers of Witch Hat Atelier for this sudden change. Thank you for your continued support of Witch Hat Atelier, and we look forward to bringing you the latest chapter on this new schedule.“
Kamome Shirahama’s Tongari Boshi no Atorie manga debuted in July 2016 in Kodansha’s Monthly Morning Two magazine. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English as Witch Hat Atelier. The manga series has over 4.5mn copies in circulation and an anime adaptation was announced in 2022 with a teaser.
Kodansha USA describes the plot of the manga:
In a world where everyone takes wonders like magic spells and dragons for granted, Coco is a girl with a simple dream: she wants to be a witch. But everybody knows magicians are born, not made, and Coco was not born with a gift for magic. Resigned to her un-magical life, Coco is about to give up on her dream to become a witch … until the day she meets Qifrey, a mysterious, traveling magician. After secretly seeing Qifrey perform magic in a way she’s never seen before, Coco soon learns what everybody “knows” might not be the truth, and discovers that her magical dream may not be as far away as it may seem…
