On May 30, 2021, Kyoto Animation announced that they would produce their first music festival in late November this year. The music festival will celebrate their various projects and act as a thank you to the fans. Additionally, the event marks the fifth fan appreciation event that Kyoto Animation has done, previously focused on exhibitions, orchestras, and more.
However, Kyoto Animation has explained that the content that will be in the event could change depending on the covid infection and Japan’s government policies. Additionally, Kyoto Animation canceled the 2019 event that the studio was planning due to an arson attack. Thankfully, the arsonist Shinji Aoba has been arrested and charged, and the studio has taken steps to regain its footing in the anime industry. So, hopefully, things will go to plan with Kyoto Animation for the upcoming musical event.
Kyoto Animation has made several unique shows that have captivated fans for years. The studio has previously produced works such as 2007’s Clannad, which is an adaptation of the visual novel of the same name. Releasing with 13 episodes, Violet Evergarden has won numerous awards, including best animation at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. In addition, the studio also won the TAAF 2021 Anime of the Year Award with their Violet Evergarden feature film.
