Love Live! NijigasakI School Idol Club revealed a trailer for upcoming season 2 and an April 2 release date. Studio Sunrise (soon changing its name to Bandai Namco Filmworks) is producing the anime, which is a part of the Love Live franchise.
The main cast from the first season will also reprise their roles:
- Aguri Onishi as Ayumu Uehara
- Akari Kito as Kanata Konoe
- Chiemi Tanaka as Rina Tenoji
- Hinaki Yano as Yu Takasaki
- Kaori Maeda as Shizuku Osaka
- Maria Sashide as Emma Verde
- Mayu Sagara as Kasumi Nakasu
- Miyu Kubota as Karin Asaka
- Natsumi Murakami as Ai Miyashita
- Tomori Kusunoki as Setsuna Yuki
Three new cast members will also join the upcoming season:
- Akina Homoto as Lanzhu Zhong
- Moeka Koizumi as Shioriko Mifune
- Shu Uchida as Mia Taylor

Nijigasaki High School is known for their diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara. Sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, the members of this club each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.
