Besides the Chiai Fujikawa returning to perform the ending theme song, it was also announced that Madkid (MADKID) will return to perform the new opening for The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2. They previously performed both of the openings for the show’s first season, “RISE” and “FAITH”. The title of the song will be “Bring Back”, and you can see the official announcement:
The first season of The Rising of the Shield Hero anime had 25 episodes and ended in June 2019. They released character trailers for Naofumi, Raphtalia and Filo ahead of season 2, which was delayed several times.
The original light novel is written by Aneko Yusagi . One Peace Books is publishing the light novel in English, and they describe the story of volume 6 (the beginning of season 2):
After their battle with Glass, Naofumi and his friends work to revitalize the Cal Mira islands before returning to the castle. On the ship back to Melromarc, they meet a young girl named Rishia, who claims to have been tricked and abandoned by her companions. Naofumi, sympathizing with her fate, agrees to listen to her story, and she joins the party. Eventually, Naofumi discovers that she has a talent for transformation magic, but before they can discuss it, someone comes running to beg the heroes for assistance. A monster wearing something like a turtle shell needs to be chased off. The monster is so powerful that even the mightiest adventurers cannot defeat him—so what hope is there for Naofumi?
Just like with Chiai Fujikawa, The Rising of the Shield Hero already know Madkid, and we’ll get to hear her new opening theme song in season 2 in a few months!
