A collaboration visual has been released to celebrate the upcoming ME & ROBOCO: The Movie and DreamWorks’ animated feature The Wild Robot releasing soon in Japan.

The Wild Robot premieres in Japanese theaters on February 7, while ME & ROBOCO: The Movie will premiere on April 18, 2025. The cross-promotion aims to highlight both of the robot-centric stories. You can see the collaboration visuals below.

ME & ROBOCO is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Shuhei Miyazaki. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 2020, with VIZ Media publishing it digitally in English. Studio Gallop animated the first anime series, which ran for 28 short (~3 minute each) episodes from December 2022 to June 2023. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime.

Studio Gallop is also animating ME & ROBOCO. The main staff is all returning for the movie, including Akitaro Daichi as the director, Sayuru Oba in charge of the series composition, Yuko Ebara as the character designer, with Jun Abe and Seiji Muto composing the music. The voice cast will include the addition of Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy in ONE PIECE) and consist of:

  • Shun Matsuo as Roboco
  • Minami Tsuda as Bondo Taira
  • Kotono Mitsuishi as Bondo’s Mom
  • Ryotaro Okiayu as Gachi Gorilla
  • Sae Hiratsuka as Meico Kaneo
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Motsuo Kaneo
  • MAO as Madoka
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Chizuru Mifune
  • Kaori Nazuka as Milly
  • Mayumi Tanaka as Luffy-like Roboco

The Wild Robot premiered in the US on September 24, 2024.
